Here it is, my super simple recipe for yummy pulled pork. Contained within this post is also my recipe for yummy, and slightly spicy, fool proof BBQ sauce. This stuff is good on pretty much anything and I use it around here liberally!
Crock-pot BBQ Pulled Pork
What you will need:
2 lbs. Pork (I used pork butt)
2 cups Ketchup
1 tbs. Onion Powder
3 tbs. Molasses
3 tbs. Honey
6 tbs. Apple Cider Vinegar
3 tbs. Worcestershire Sauce
4 tbs. Dijon Mustard
4 tbs. Maple Syrup
2 tsp. Chilli Powder
1/2 tsp. Cayenne Pepper (optional)
In a bowl mix together ketchup, onion powder, molasses, honey, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, maple syrup, chilli powder, and cayenne pepper. Stir with a whisk until well blended.
Place pork in crock-pot and pour sauce over meat. I like to add about a cup of water at this point since my crock-pot gets extremely hot even on low. The added water prevents the sauce from burning and boils out by the time we are ready to eat. Use your judgment here based off how your crock-pot functions.
Cook on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 4-6 hours.
Shred with a fork and serve on your choice of bun.
We served ours up on sweet onion buns with some sweet potato fries. Yummy!
